Description

  1. Installed Conduit (via Docker)
  2. Installed mautrix-signal and mautrix-whatsapp bridges (via Docker)
  3. Confirmed that I can use mautrix-signal and mautrix-whatsapp with a user registered on the local conduit server <@user:matrix.local.net>
  4. Made sure my "foreign" user account <@user:matrix.org> is listed in mautrix-whatsapp/config.yaml (and mautrix-signal/config.yaml) under bridge/permissions
  5. Logged-in to <@user:matrix.org> and invited the bot <@whatsappbot:matrix.local.net> to a room. whatsappbot would not enter the room (same with signalbot)

Therefore I cannot use my WhatsApp bridge or Signal bridge with foreign users. It would however be an important features to also allow friends and family who have a matrix.org account to use the bridge.

System Configuration

  • OS: Debian with Docker
  • Docker Image: matrixconduit/matrix-conduit:next
  • Signal Bridge Docker Images: dock.mau.dev/mautrix/signal, docker.io/signald/signald
  • Signal DB (Docker): postgres:13-alpine
  • Whatsapp Bridge Docker Image: dock.mau.dev/mautrix/whatsapp:latest
  • Whatsapp Bridge DB (Docker): postgres:13-alpine

Conduit Version: 0.7.0-alpha
Database backend (default is sqlite): rocksdb

As I couldn't find any relevant log information, I am not sure if the bug is caused by conduit or by the bridges. If you can help me find this information, maybe I can close this issue.

Please tell me which additional information I should provide!
